On this page you will see snapshots of the highlights of the year, but there was so much activity that we can't possibly share it all. last fall Jennifer gave a series of concerts to raise money for her trip to Africa. Thanks to all who participated in that effort! After her trip in April, Jennifer was privileged to participate in several campmeetings, as well as conferences and the usual seminars and concerts in churches.
Jennifer is currently involved in helping coordinate a book and track shipment to Zambia, to be dispersed by the evangelism team at Riverside Farms where Jennifer stayed while in Africa. The shipment will be leaving Lightbearers Ministry from Malo, Washington this fall. If you have Spirit of Prophecy books or bibles you would like to donate, please contact Michael Ministries, and we will tell you how you can get them on that shipment. The people in Africa need what we have, even if it is used books that sit on our shelves collecting dust!
Your prayers and financial support for this project are also welcome. Let me give you an idea of how great the need is. While in Africa, I sold my cassettes for $2.50 each. They could not have paid any more! Their currency is so weak, and their economy so faltering, that we can not sell our products for profit. So either we give our goods to them or they don't get them. These people are at the mercy of our generosity! Give something today so that one of the millions of African souls can come to know Jesus.
Here are two shots from speaking/singing events I did while there. Above is a group of pastor's wives who came to Riverside Farms for a weekend seminar. Below is a group of 135 people who collected at the "Lushomo" church for a 2 1/2 hour long meeting.
Another significant event this year was my daughter Alison's baptism. March 7, 1998 she went into the waters that symbolize the grave and rose up again with Christ. Please pray that she weathers the conflicts of youth and grows into a mature Christian. She is a precious, very ardent, very curious young lady. To know her is to love her.
Chance of Rain is Jennifer's first adult inspirational recording since Banish the Myth in 1995. Hopefully it will be worth the wait. This project has the best energies of several gifted musical communicators like David and Beverly Gonzalez, Billy and David Reinwald, Marsha Kidder and her son Brent, and the list goes on. Expect a diversity of styles from traditional to contemporary.
